Certificate of Expository Preaching (Berlin)

The program aims to form the preacher as a devoted and godly minister, able to convey God’s Word accurately and faithfully on the basis of a complete, God-breathed passage of Scripture. Particular attention is given to developing the rhetorical skills needed for a clear, persuasive and pastorally sensitive proclamation of biblical truth.

The goal of the program – a thorough mastery of the methodology of expository preaching, in both its content and its delivery. Students learn to combine careful exegesis with theological coherence and practical application, so that they serve the Word with spiritual maturity and a clear understanding of the text.

The philosophy of the program rests on the apostolic charge: “Preach the word…” (2 Tim. 4:2) and on the statement: “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16–17). We are convinced that preaching must not be an arbitrary expression of thoughts about faith, but a clear and faithful exposition of the truth that flows from the text of Scripture itself.
